A professional smoothing treatment is an investment. Whether it lasts six weeks or four months depends mostly on what you do at home. Here are the five habits that make the difference.
1. Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo
Sulfates (SLS, SLES) are strong detergents. They strip the smoothing agents from the fibre wash after wash. A gentle, sulfate-free shampoo such as Therapy Shampoo cleanses without undoing the treatment. Two or three washes a week are enough.
2. Use a repair mask once a week
Smoothed hair needs nourishment to stay soft and shiny. Ten minutes of Therapy Mask once or twice a week restores strength and keeps frizz away.
3. Apply a serum before any heat
Blow-dryer and flat iron are not forbidden, but the hair must be protected. A few drops of Therapy Serum on the lengths before drying seal the cuticle and protect from heat. The same serum on dry hair adds shine.
4. Avoid what ruins a smoothing
- Shampoos with sulfates or “clarifying” shampoos (except the salon pre-treatment).
- Very hot water.
- Sea water and chlorine without rinsing afterwards.
- Tight elastics and clips in the first 48 hours.
5. Keep a simple routine
Shampoo, mask, serum: three products, a few minutes a week. That is the whole Complete Therapy Routine, designed specifically for hair that has been smoothed, coloured or damaged.
And if your hair was not smoothed?
The same routine repairs dry, brittle or coloured hair: the four NOVELLISS patents (Restart Pro, Corum 5118, Fermentoil, Pro Shine) work on every hair type. Visible results after one month of use.
